PRENATAL RITUAL
The prenatal ritual is another way to prepare for childbirth, a moment to stop in time, say goodbye to pregnancy, release fears, open yourself to labor, and celebrate motherhood. It typically takes place around the 38th week of pregnancy and lasts approximately 3 hours. The ritual can include drinking ceremonial cocoa or tea, sharing birth stories, a feast, self-care such as massage, herbal steam baths, hair brushing, belly henna painting, making bracelets, and more.
This ritual is suitable for all pregnant women, especially those who feel that this may be their last pregnancy. It is also recommended for women who are overdue and wish to encourage their baby to be born.
RITUAL OF CLOSING THE BONES – Postpartum Closing Ritual
The Closing the Bones ritual marks the completion of pregnancy and childbirth, uniting the body and soul, restoring energy, bringing the woman into the present moment, helping her release what no longer serves her, and opening her to all that is ahead of her.
This ritual can be used to close childbirth but also any significant events or life phases.
The ritual typically includes a clear intention, sharing, a warming drink, a feast, rebozo massage, vaginal steaming, foot washing, and closing the bones with rebozo scarfs.
It is usually performed at the end of the postpartum period or anytime thereafter, and lasts 3-5 hours, depending on how much time the woman needs. It is suitable for anyone who feels the need to mark the end of a chapter in their life.
